Originally opened in 1940, the Olympic Pools is special for many reasons. When it was first opened it was our country's first 50-metre swimming pool. In 1950 it was the venue for the Empire Games, and it also holds a piece of New Zealand sporting history for producing the first world swimming record for the country when Philippa Gould broke the record for the 200-metre backstroke in 1957.
Nowadays it's still a cracking good sports centre with a heated Olympic-sized pool, cardio gym and great wellness and health programs to get you fit and feeling fantastic.View all images Hide images HoursMon 5:30am - 9:30pmTues 5:30am - 9:30pmWed 5:30am - 9:30pmThurs 5:30am - 9:30pmFri 5:30am - 9:00pmSat 7:00am - 8:00pmSun 7:00am - 8:00pmHolidaysClosed
